Re: Electrical issue, what is this part?
Took the rear fairings off and found this piece smoking and burnt. What is this? What caused it to happen? As far as what caused it to burn up like that, simply POOR DESIGN. Look up an R6's VRR and compare it to yours. Notice the cooling fins/fans which add tons of surface material which allows for...

Re: FZR600 Carb Diaphragm Membrane
Well, a quick final update on the diaphragms... they WORK. Got carbs back together last night, rode about 100 miles today.. bike runs like a champ, MUCH better than before.
Again, that's PN# 13507-17C00 or 13507-17C01.

Re: FZR600 Carb Diaphragm Membrane
Nice! Did you have any issues with them slipping out of the groove on the carb body? That's an issue I have now and then so I have to be REALLY careful putting the covers back on. It's as if they shrink over time... :swear I'll update once the carb is back together. Right now, everything is still t...

Re: FZR600 Carb Diaphragm Membrane
Yep, glad I could contribute something. A little more of an update, the parts actually cost $16 a piece from the ebayer I bought them from. $2 for shipping put me at a total of $66 for the set of four. Still big savings compared to having to replace all four entire assy's, even for used ones on ebay...

Re: FZR600 Carb Diaphragm Membrane
I'm sorry, the part number in my first post is incorrect. The correct number is 13507-17C00. I'm not saying the part number in the first post wouldn't fit too, but this one is the one I ordered so it's a definite go.

Re: FZR600 Carb Diaphragm Membrane
Well, I went ahead and ordered four of those diaphragms, taking a chance. They came in today and I'm pleased to report they are a PERFECT MATCH :headbang: So, anyone needing diaphragms, as long as the slide piece and retaining ring are good, just the diaphragm itself is worn, order that part number ...

Re: Oil Draining Issue
NOPE It IS right next to the left hand lower frame rail-pretty much behind the kickstand as others have said. Some have a phillips screw in the middle of the drain plug. Looked down there after I read pnbell's comment, I saw it. Yep, mine has the phillips screw in the middle. That must've been my p...

Re: Oil Draining Issue
The drain plug isn't that bolt right next to the oil filter? Looking at the bike from the front it would be just to the left of the oil filter? No???

Re: FZR600 Carb Diaphragm Membrane
Here's a comparison of my Carb Diaphragm next to my computer screen showing the ebay listing. On that listing, the carb diaphragm is compatible with almost every late 80's to late 90's models of Suzuki sportbikes including 600's. Being that Suzuki and Yamaha are both Japanese, both use Mikuni Carbs,...

FZR600 Carb Diaphragm Membrane
I came across this post in the FZR1000 Archives for a cheaper substitute part for the carb diaphragm membrane. Does anyone know if this part would work in a 600? Looks like it to me. Part number is 13507-07D01, off a 93 Suzuki DR650 or GSXR750 with Mikuni Carbs. It's not the complete diaphragm assy,...

Re: 91 FZR 600 Muffled Sound/Loss of Power
I might give it a try. I honestly do hate paying people for stuff I can do on my own. As a weapons repairer, I know I can usually follow a manual and figure stuff out as long as I have instructions. I guess it couldn't hurt, if I f*k it up, I can always go ahead and pay that $240 I was gonna pay any...

Re: Oil Draining Issue
I realize the way I wrote that made it sound like I was surprised the oil came shooting out when I left the drain plug out. No, I was expecting that. I did it to confirm my suspicions that there definitely was oil in there it just wasn't draining out as it should have been. I've had an oil filter co...

Re: Oil Draining Issue
Just ran a little experiment. Since I've put more oil in than I've been able to drain out, I wanted to try something. I added another 1/2qt of oil, screwed on the filler cap, installed the oil filter, and left the plug OUT. Started the bike. OIL FOUNTAIN! Whatever is preventing it from draining is n...
