Re: Re: More Trunk Room?

Zanter - This is proving to be a challenge, but i like a good challenge. I need to buy some wood, to try the 3 brace idea, but hopefully something will work. The cross bar thats under the seat is a bit of a pain in the ass as well. All the more rewarding when it's completed lol. I got some great id...

Re: Re: Re: More Trunk Room?

Those ideas wouldn't leave the cover very stable and its quite a flimsy thing, so at speed id have my doubts about it. But it you where to brace it at the front(cover up the hole), in the middle(where you'd mount the catch) and right at the back(where you'd mount the locating tab) i reckon you coul...

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: More Trunk Room?

Sounds like a great idea. Also, that black foam weather stripping stuff (for windows and doors and stuff) would be great to line the edges. It'd provide cushion to make it secure and tight, and provide water resistance. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2 That also sounds like a good idea th...

Re: Re: Re: More Trunk Room?

25mm thick Medium Density Fibre board. Its almost like chip board but a lot less course and bitty. I had an idea of fibre glassing another bit of mdf in place of where the seats locating lug is and the using that to secure the back, so its pretty much like the seat is terms of mounting in on the bi...

Re: More Trunk Room?

I wish thinking of getting an off cut of 25mm mdf, cutting it to the shape of the void in the seat cover, placing it on the inside, then fibre glassing over it, this would the fill the void and also give you a place to fit a bum pad and seat catch. The next issue is getting the rear of the cover se...

Re: More Trunk Room?

Ok. So here's what I've come up with after thinking and pondering. First! To solve the main problem at hand which is my Mt. Dewless rides, I've come up with the idea of having some kind of belt strap that either attaches to the air vent tube, or to the fairing (illustrated with random tan tape stuff...

Re: Replacement Tach Glass?

Easy way, eBay, or buy a piece of plexiglass and cut down. Any local glass shops near you? Give them a call and ask if they can help you. I tell you what sometimes you can really luck out. There is one in town actually. I was trying to get a part number or something to order it and be lazy lol I se...

Re: More Trunk Room?

What about reenforcing the fibreglass seat cover, attaching the seat lock it, filling in the void where the seat pokes though and hey presto you can get rid of the seat and have that extra couple of inches under your seat??? Replacement Tach Glass?

Does anyone know where i could grab some replacement tach glass? I feel it wouldn't pass MD inspection without it. Packaging tape/Saran wrap is my current solution in mind.

Re: More Trunk Room?

You understand my pain brother. It really does suck. If you do think of anything/do anything though, i'm sure many will appreciate it. I was wondering if there's another tail/back end that fits and has more space. Like a YZF or FZ or something

More Trunk Room?

Hey guys,

This is my first post. I've found answers to most of my problems, but not this one. Is there a way to get more trunk room under the back seat? I don't even have room for a mt.dew in there :(

Thanks bros
