Re: valve check
Got it figured out. The master wasn't getting any return flow when the lever was released. I could have swore it was before. So I'll have to pull that apart and clean it and might as well as do the slave. Might just buy the rebuild kits for them too. When I took the springs off the clutch plate ther...

Re: valve check
Thanks Don. I was doing some more searching and read up some and understood about the clutch. When I was taking the bolts for the springs out I noticed I have 3 long springs and 3 short springs alternating. Is this normal? It also appears to be a billet basket. I was told from the PO that it has a 1...

Re: valve check
I've never pulled a clutch and not sure what I'm looking at or for. I don't have a manual so I'm having to search the net for everything. Are the bolts that hold the springs supposed to be torqued? I can back them out with my screwdriver with ease. I'm not really sure what the clutch has to do with ...

Re: valve check
So should I pull the plates and soak them in oil over night and retry it? When I move the shifter it feels like it goes into all gears. I can tell it is in neutral as the wheel spins somewhat freely like normal. When I put it in any gear it is a bit harder to turn but not hard like my other bikes.

valve check
So I just ordered a new valve cover gasket so I can check the valves. I got this bike from a friend that had it in storage for the past 10+ years. He said he drove it into the storage unit. I haven't tried to start it up yet, just got my 600 running that I got from the same guy. As I understand you ...

Where in AZ are you? I'm in Gilbert. Does it roll in neutral? Put it in gear, third or higher, does it roll? If it does, motor should be able to start. I would change the oil, Rotella T6 $21 at Walmart, and filter and flush the radiator and just leave water in there for now. You'll need a new batter...

Ignition switch bolts
I just bought an ignition switch for my bike. It didn't have one on it. Does anyone know what size bolts I need to get to mount it? I'm just going to get some Allen bolts. I'm not worried about them not being the security type.

Where should the lobe be when checking the clearance? I thought it was at TDC, but in the manual they show a pic of checking it when the lobe is pointing up, straight with the valve. I'm confused. If it is measured at TDC then I measured correctly. Intake #1-.006 .005 #2-.005 .004 #3-.005 .004 #4-.0...

Sorry so late but here are some pics of my fzr 600 with airtech fairings. I do have the airtech rear hugger but the tire I have is too tall for it to fit :( http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/09/27/ymepaden.jpg http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/09/27/4yse6aqu.jpg http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/09/27/azubugy5.jpg...

Thanks for the reply. I think I figured out what was going on. I don't think I was letting it warm up enough. I was just riding around the neighborhood to check things out. My idle was more upwards 1800-2000. So I think it was set too high so when it was going Into 1st from neutral it was grinding a...

Having an issue with at a stop and if I twist the throttle the bike either hesitated or just wants to die. I have to be gentle with the throttle at first then can open her up. Any ideas of what's wrong?
