Re: Not running on all cylinders
Ok. Finally got around to it. Compression is 155psi cold across the board. Figured it'd be better to compare them cold. I also trimmed the ignition wires and I think it did the trick. Didn't get a chance to check the exhaust temp yet but it sounded a lot better. Still a little rough but I still need...

Re: Not running on all cylinders
Sorry for the delay. I went to autozone to rent one but it wouldn't fit. Ended up buying one but haven't been able to use it. Between the super hot days, raining days and forgetting my wedding anniversary I haven't found the time. I will update it as soon as I can test it out.

Re: Not running on all cylinders
What should I close the gap too? Also, can I do a compression test without the carbs on? And did I test the coils right? Could it be that easy? Really don't want to just throw parts at it

Re: Not running on all cylinders
23k on the odo. I've sprayed all the jets and ran fishing line. I actual have a gallon of chemical dip but I'm scared losing some unseen rubber bits if I do it. How far do I have to break down the carbs to cook them? Seperate them too? Compression felt really strong but I don't have actual numbers. ...

Re: Not running on all cylinders
Okay, I attempted to check the resistance of the coils earlier too. at 200ohms on the meter I came out with 4-4.1 and I believe it's outside of the specs. Problem is I'm not exactly sure I did that right. I'm more of a test light type of guy. Pilot jet is the one inside the throat of the carb right?...

Re: Not running on all cylinders
Pilot screws all 3 turns out. Pulled the #1 plug and it was wet. I also pulled the plug, cleaned it and put it against the engine and got spark. Gap is see at .65 and I believe I got a yellowish spark. The sun was out and I had a hard time seeing it. It does sound like it's running on all 4 when I r...

Not running on all cylinders
Here we go, I recently bought this bike as a non-runner. Cleaned the carbs, tank, filter a million times. Put in fresh plugs and she started but idled rough. The emlusion tubes were oval so I bought new ones. Put them in and now I'm only running on 3 cylinders although it's possible I always have bu...

Re: which coil wire for vapor gauge?
Let me throw out my disclaimer first. I am a noob and haven't actually ridden my bike yet. Ok,Once I adjusted the angle I can read it no problem. Once the dashboard comes in I will post some pics. At first, I was going to fab something up for the idiot lights but figured the dash would be cheaper. O...

Re: which coil wire for vapor gauge?
Here's an update for anyone who needs the answer in the future.
Rap the positive wire around the coil 5 times like the instructions say. Set PPR to .05 and it should be spot on. Shout out to Justin at Trail Tech for answers.

which coil wire for vapor gauge?
hello all,
Hopefully this is an easy one. I bought a 75-600 vapor kit. It has a resistor in the tach cable. I was hoping to tap into a coil wire but I'm not sure which one. Any one have any experience with this?
Thanks
Shane
