carb diagnosis on '88 FZR1000
It means your bike will run decent at lower rpms with the choke engaged. No choke, no run. Clean your carbs and buy new pilots. Might cost $30.

carb diagnosis on '88 FZR1000
Your pilot jets are clogged. You can try to clean them but its just easier to order new ones.

I have a strange sound in the back of the motorcycle
The bracket that holds the breather hoses behind the swingarm came loose on mine. Drove me nuts for a while.

1987 FZR 750 R Numbers
From what I remember back in the olden days is that manufacturers had to import a minimum 200 bikes to be able to use that bike for AMA Superbike Racing. Yamaha advertised 200 but they may have imported 209.

I'd say the bike is worth what you think it's worth. $3500 seems like a fair price if it is in the condition you say it is. It's a neat, rare bike. If you were to treat it as such you'd have yourself a cool collector to show off. I'd have dig out some old magazines and brochures to be sure but I thi...

The 750 is a neat but odd bike. Yeah, only 200 brought into the US. The gearing is for the race track. That makes it a pain riding at low speeds in town. Also the suspension was setup very stiff. Iirc the '89 or '90 was totally redone and called the FZR 750 OWO1.

Corrosion on the aluminium frame?
The early FZR 1000 had an aluminum main frame. The lowers were steel and bolted to the main frame.

I don't post much here but............that video is just awful. I don't want to come off as a prick but it is. Also, not to rub salt in the wound, it seems that about 90% of info like that on this site is just plain wrong. Sorry, but it is.

Grinding noise when let off throttle.
Does your chain move freely or is there a 'tight spot' in some links? Cush drive are the rubber pieces in the rear hub. Are they in good condition? I'd recommend checking out the counter shaft sprocket cover. I would bet that thing is packed with crap. When that happens you will get a grinding sound.
