Re: ATTN: All FZR Archives transplants
My 4/6 has not been ridden in years either. Though I still do have it. I am not to far from you either if you are still in Socal. I relocated from Co to Ca out in Bakersfield. I need to redo my front forks and some other stuff and get it out riding. I would love to see your 3tj someday

I would move your shock resevoir to the other side. You are putting a gas charged cylinder next to your HOT exhaust. You are asking for problems with your shock.

Re: FZR400/600 project
Great price. For that cost, it would pay off to ship the bike.
Also is that my old GSXR wheel that I sold to someone out in NC years ago. Not many GSXR conversions that have a custom made rear brake disk. Mine did.......

Re: 660 Motor, finally running :)
Why would the YZF rods be longer even though the crank throw of the FZR is longer. Strange. They must have offset the piston wrist slots on the pistons differently then.

Re: Cooling the bike
Just run the fan almost all the time. Maybe you burn through a fan fast. But it doe snot effect HP at all. So meh..... run it. Infact it might help with the exhange of cool and hot air to the airbox. I was actually thinking about running a computer fan inside the frame hole of the FZR400 frame to pu...

Re: 660 Motor, finally running :)
Short would not mean that you need a spacer plate, short would be a concern about pistons hitting crank. Thus possibly needing custom pistons.

Its a nice build but I would not have welded the tank like he did. He just killed off the only inlet that tank had for cold air.

Re: Cooling the bike
Why bother. Just run the YZF600r rad and fan. Run it on a switch too. Because the thermal switch sucks. Just raise the rad up high in the frame and you will clear the YZF motor fine in the FZR400 frame.

I have a spare YZF600r motor sitting around.

Re: HOW TO:build a hybrid yzf/fzr airbox without cutting it up
This just looks like a bad idea. You have cut off or restricted half of the volume in the airbox. Even if not. You have changed the whole dynamics inside of the box. Creating restrictions and convoluted air flow issues.

I don't know if that solves the problem of the spacer plate. Did you use a spacer plate?

Re: The FZ-R1 project (lots of pictures)
a bleeder is real cheap from harbor freight. Like 15 dollars. another thing to do is to take off all the brake parts. Put the brakes above the master cylinder. Let gravity do work for you. Leave it over night like that. Then bleed it out.

Re: YZF600 Engine Swap
I run a modified 95 YZF 600 air box on a 98 engine. No ram air. I plumbed the float bowl pressurization back into the box on the bottom. There are pics of how I modded the box in the link at the bottom of my signature. Just search in the photo bucket box.
