Re: Bad Stator?

The ground between the R/R the heat sink and the frame is suspect on this bike. So after replacing a fried r/r with an early TDM/XT r/r (which also has cooling fins on it) I added an extra ground cable to the same battery ground to frame bolt and all has been ok since, for thousands of miles. Re: Slipping Clutch? Or something else?

This is exactly what it would do if you turned the screw in too tight. There should be some slack there and at the lever it is a fine adjustment as wear progresses.
I think it is worth your time to redo the adjustment before you throw away a good clutch.

Re: rectifier

That 629 is what I use, MK1 type TDM and FJ600s among many others use them and I'd go with a Japan/Taiwan made rather than China. On top of all the cooling fins it has if you mount it on the stock aluminum heat shink/plate you'll get plenty of heat dispersal. The grounding problem I believe is the p...

Re: Got some problems with floats height

One checking method I use when set float heights is that I blow through the fuel line and lift the float to the point it starts leaking a bit and record the level and check if all 4 open up at the same height by same pressure. If one is off the line up it means the valve/seat is suspect. You don't h...
