Re: Header compatability

My 98 R1 headers arrived they looked amazingly clean too good to be true and it was the valve was siezed solid :swear so much to the wife's amusement I had them on the gas hob heating and cooling the buggers. I eventually got it out and done the 4mm hack and tried to fit it to my exhaust only to fin...

Re: Header compatability

What's the heat expansion like with that bronze it must be quit tight tolerances machining them for a bush especially one in a hot environment like the exhaust. Have you got them up on eBay could be a decent amount of interest on them

Re: Header compatability

Your too quick Mr stig. I've just bought the lot for £55 so even if the cables don't fit it's a decent price for the valve, clip, and cover I think. Il crack the diy milling machine out (angle grinder) and blast off 4mm. Do you know if the bush will need a shot of the grinder as well? Don't worry ab...

Re: Header compatability

Well that all fell through pretty quickly, the guy decided he wanted a load more money for it :swear. But luckily enough I found a header with valve cover and cables for a 98 R1 so I think I will just get that instead and get someone to mill 4mm of the end. Do you think the cables would fit or are t...

Re: Header compatability

Wow those look like some seriously nice headers there, I would feel bad putting them on my bike, especially coming into winter. im on a tight budget so I might try get an early r1 valve and parts and get 4mm machined off the end, I need a quick fix before the ice and snow comes God knows how I would...

Header compatability

I'm on my second fzr now without the valve and this time I'm doing it right and trying to source the valve but can't find any decent headers with valves or even just ...

Re: rear shock!
