Are you getting Fuel flow? Or, maybe your getting to much fuel (flooding).

My new (to me) starter came in yesterday. I put it on, and hooked it up. Presto she fires right up now. I replaced a lot of main electrical wires and made new grounds. Hope all of this made a difference. If not it looks nice.

I used a wire wheel to clean mine up, then hand sanded them smooth. I painted mine with gloss black header paint. They look great, and have held up so far. The key is multiple light coats of paint.

Problem solved! The starter is bad. I took it to the auto parts store and had them put it on a test bench. When its energized it does not turn very well. It grinds along while turning over, plus it will stop all together. Time for a new starter.

Don The initial charge was with a battery tender auto charger. That charged almost 24 hours. Then I put the battery on the bike and tried to start it. It had the same problem. YG I took everything back apart, cleaned all the contacts, replaced the ground wire, and added one, and put it all back. Still the same slow starter. The red hot wire coming off the battery gets hot while cranking it. While I had it apart I hit the starter wire directly on the battery and it cranks ...

I will give all the electric connections a cleaning and see what happens. I have had the battery sitting on the trickle charger since yesterday.

I had to take the carbs off to mod the bracket for the push cable. Other than that, nothing else has been done to it. Last time it ran was the day my cable snapped. That was over a week ago.

I broke the pull cable, but found the push and pull cables at the motorcycle warehouse in Auburn Maine. The Guy gave me a heck of a deal. 5 dollars on the pair. They were off a 95 far. The bike sounds like its not getting enough power to full turn over. The engine will crank, but it does it slowly. Its a brand new battery that was charged for 12 hours before I hooked it up to the bike. I will make a video in a while, to show what its doing.

So the issue is when I push start it sounds like the battery is dead. I replaced the battery with a new battery. I charged it for 24 hours. and went to crank it. I have the same issue. The battery reads 13.3 volts on the terminals, and drops when I crank it, but bounces back after. Any ideas?

Not sure. I just shift as needed. It depends on how hard I get on it.
