Re: The new project 91 FZR w pics

UPDATE: I'll post some pics up when I get a chance, but I am also writing this out in case anyone else wants to do what I have done in the future. I got a set of Fly dirtbike bars ( the flex type ) mounted on my FZR finally. They went right in to the Seca 2 upper triple tree clamp without any issues...

Re: runs rough at 50+ mph

I would start with the carbs as well. FZR carbs arent that bad to get out, and if you left any fuel in the bowls while it was in storage it probably gelled up and is now clogging a jet/passage somewhere... or like you said has crudded up a float needle and needs to be cleaned. You will be happy you ...

Re: battery not holding charge???

Could be several things. Id get a meter and make sure the charging system s doing its job while running. If it is, then you might have something that is shorting out while the bike is off that is drawing from your battery while it is off. Try disconnecting your + post when you are done riding for th...

Re: Chain Help

The cheapest O-ring chains I have seen were on Ebay... around $60 I think. I know that Western Power Sports has some decent heavy duty O-ring chains in the $100 range... unfortunately there isn't really a such thing as a cheap O ring chain. Roller chains are really cheap, but I wouldn't put one on a...

Re: The new project 91 FZR w pics

Added a 14t front sprocket the other day and it made a noticeable difference in the pickup of the bike. Still haven't gotten the brake line for the front, been on a time crunch lately.

Re: cheep digital speedometers found

Which model do you have? What's the cost, roughly? They do not have the idiot lights, correct? I am using the Universal one w/ zip tie sensor. I epoxied the magnet to my brake rotor in an inconspicuous spot. It retails where I work @ $130 for the kit I got. You can also get a separate kit for $50 t...

Re: Trail Tech Vapor works like a charm

Its help up through the rain just fine so far. I'm a year round rider, so it's getting put through the best and worst the weather has to offer here in Georgia. Its' supposed to hold up to the elements fairly well from what I have read. I did put dielectric grease in the connectors to keep them from ...

Re: cheep digital speedometers found

Did you ever end up getting this? I'm having some serious issues with my speedo. I would love to hear if these work at all. The typical digi ones you see are really pricey, this would be a great alternative. I still cant say enough good things about the trailtech speedo. A little pricey, but it's g...

Good looking bike! I like what you did to the tail section.... gives me some ideas for mine. I'm glad that everything seems to be working out well for you.

Re: The new project 91 FZR w pics

Thanks :-) I might trim up the tail section.... I'm debating it because Id have to change the tail light, but I do have an extra set of tail plastics so it is tempting... Concerning the wiring, it was pretty easy to hide it all. It fit snugly behind the new headlight assembly, and I didn't chop anyt...

Re: Engine wont turn over

Did you verify that the timing mark on the flywheel was lined up as well? I know you mentioned making sure cylinder 1 was TDC, but by the manual it recommends getting all 3 timing marks ( crank and cams ) lined up from what I can remember.
