I think my new plan was to somehow avoid the splice into the hose, and go right for the wires, or actually use te vapor sender piece to replace the stock one. Seems like it would be the most accurate for the engine/warning temp.

The sending unit makes the most sense to me. I'll give that a shot.

There is a color wiring diagram on here somewhere. And make sure you grab the manual too. IIRC, there are a couple connectors up front - definitely 2 that deal with the blinkers and all the idiot lights on the dash etc.

Not really sure which parts you were planning on using from the TL1000, but you are probably best off finding the basic things you need from another FZR600. Less hassle, and it will get you "on the road" quicker (I quote, because I assume you can't yet ride at 15). The parts of this bike were pretty...

Unfortunately, I got the type with the insert for the hose.
