Re: This will be the slowest build thread in history!!!

Ugh. The more I dig into this thing, the more shocked I am that the previous owner didn't beef it and die.{SNIP} Only one out of four piston moved at all on the left caliper. None on the right moved at all. I gave it a few more pulls on the lever and only that one piston moved. Now, I'm no mechanic...

Re: front forks HELP PLEASE

Hi, That is easy read Y-Geo's web page on just doing that with all his tuition on making your own tools to do the job in a professional manner (mind you I am biased he is my old man loL) http://www.saltmine.org.uk/fzr/fork.html You might want to invest a bit of money on the PD valves as he did, as t...

Re: Noob question from a new member *pressed for time

Hi, welcome to the forum. If it is the clutch rod oil seal the area behind the front sprocket cover will show signs of an oil leek (drip variety (not the usual chain lube / road grime sticky mess. Seal replacement is trivial BUT if the clutch rod or bore holoe where it sits is worn it may need a new...

Re: 2nd gear slips back into neutral while riding

Darrin, I have to sympathise with my "fellow colonials" that we both speak english but not the Queens version (or at least Y-Geo's version ) I thought it meant "wedding tackle" or "mutts nutts$ etc but apparently the translation is general " associated pieces " with what ever the subject matter is !...

Re: Luckybike voltage regulator is this OEM? Should I return

Hi, that was made in Taiwan so not likely to be Yamaha ! That said the one picture you do not show is the terminal block. Does your plug look to fit ? Y-Geo says it looks like the type of VR from an R* series yamaha, with its heavy cast fins. Depending on cost we say use it if it was cheap enough if...

Re: What the fork???

G, take alook at Y-Geo fork page at:= http://www.saltmine.org.uk/fzr/fork.html that will show you how to make fork tools and how the internals are put together. Sorry to hear you learned the hard way that non OEM fork seals are mostly rubbish. As for being a"girly" mechanic, it is nice to have compa...
