Re: Jetting issues/Fuel pump?

The fuel pump WONT run continuously....just enough to keep the bowls full. I think I would rule that out.. The statement that it would sometimes run right after the battery swap makes me think you have a voltage problem. The TCI ignition is VERY voltage sensitive. Have you checked your charging vol...

Re: So, I filed a police report.

Wait up with the .40cal! +100. i wouldn't necessarily wait up with a bat, just because there are a lot of asshole thieves with guns. i would still love to wire my car/bike up like a james bond car though. touch the door handle or something and get a couple hundred volts up your ass :headbang: If yo...

Re: need info asap on a rear wheel im buying

You could make almost anything work, but the largest wheel that will fit in the FZR600/FZR400 (non-3TJ) is a 17x4.5. If it's 5 or 5.5 wide it won't fit without a swingarm swap, at which point you're probably best off going with a Foxeye FZR600R (YZF600 in the states) swingarm and wheel swap.

Re: So, I filed a police report.

If you're using a chain and can spare a little more money, go for a Manganal (or similar Manganese/Steel alloy). Some of the toughest metal you can get chains made of, usually can't be cut with hand tools, and is really tough to cut with power tools. Its main weakness is heat; if I remember right it...

Re: valve head swap

I don't recall ever hearing of anybody doing it. Would the FZR600 cams fit the YZF600 head? Whenever I broke an exhaust cam a while back I looked into it, and everything I found said that the FZR400, FZR600, and YZF600 all had interchangeable camshafts, and I can't tell any difference in the three ...

Re: Valve adjustment

I adjusted mine no problem (sorta) having never done it before. I look in the factory service manual in the Wiki for the proper chapter (tells you everything) and make sure to have a good set of feeler guages and a good torque wrench. It's got a chart in the factory service manual for shim selection...

Re: Custom Saddle Bag Mod - Question

I don't mean to be a downer, but there are easier ways of getting a set of saddlebags. Here's a few pics of my '97 FZR600 with my expandable Technik Saddlebags I got off eBay for $40. They fit well and mount securely with the included straps, and there's even a strap that goes under the passenger se...

If they're in the $75 range you can count my "Probably So" answer to a "Definitely Yes"

Re: to everyone with the Ford Escort coil pack mod..

There should be enough room there. If there was such little space there some people would be having problems simply by how tight the do there plugs up. I would be more looking into the actual spark burning/pitting the top of the piston rather than it hitting it. I would turn bike over to top dead c...

Re: Downpipes

I hate to say it, guys, but he's posting in the FZR1000 section, and TK modified R6 headers to fit a FZR600 Genesis. There is always the off chance that the same "stretching" technique could be used to fit R1 headers to a FZR1K, but I don't think anyone's tried it yet. Here's one on eBay US for the ...

Re: 400 vs 600 rearsets

Gotcha. If they don't bolt right up (which they might) it would be as simple as cutting off the current mounts and welding a little bit of steel stock (square stock or flat bar) with properly spaced, drilled and tapped mounting holes in place of the current mounting plates. Another option is to have...

Re: 400 vs 600 rearsets

Wondering, do us model fzr6 rearsets interchange with euro model fzr400 rrsp rearsets? Anyone know for sure? I have to ask, do you have a FZR600 and are looking at a set of FZR400RRSP rearsets, or do you have a FZR400RRSP and are looking at a set of FZR600 rearsets? If it's the latter I have a set ...
