1997 FZR 600 73 original miles

For sale is an original 73 mile FZR that I purchased from the original owner. I had posted it when I got it with 52 miles and have since cleaned the carbs lowered it (I still have the original link) and am not going to use the bike after all. I want to sell it to a person who will appreciate this bi...

Re: Adjustable kickstand for FZR600?

I have the same problem with my FZR b/c it was lowered by the previous owner. You just have to be careful with parking the bike with the stock side stand. This is my excat reason for needing the shorter kickstand. I need to keep the bike low so raising it up is not an option. Right now the bike app...

Re: Doesn't run unless full choked?

I cleaned all pilot jets the last time. Two of the smaller jets were clogged so I cleaned them out with cleaner and a nylon fishing line. From what I remembered there looked like there was orings in the housing when I took the jets out. I cleaned all passage ways, the pilot jets and needle valve and...

Doesn't run unless full choked?

THe bike has not been run in a long time, only has 52 miles on it so I took the carbs off and cleaned everything out and put new plugs in it. It wil only stay running fully choked and stumbles when given throttle slowly from idle. A more experience rider took it for a ride and said off the line it i...

Re: Has anyone documented cleaning their carbs?

I followed these instructions they are very good. the carb cleaning was a LOT easier than I thought. Give it a shot. my olny suggestion would be to use an impact screw driver to break the fuel bowl screws lose. The screws and drain screws are very expensive (with shipping of course) so be careful.

Re: I just picked up my 1997 FZR 600 with only 52 miles!

Yeah... This listing was discussed briefly over on the Archives, with a few people calling BS - replacement peanut cover, tank bra, net... A new speedo isn't that hard to install... :headscratch:  :dubious: Yep, I was one of the ones calling for caution. I suppose it's possible, however unl...

Re: I just picked up my 1997 FZR 600 with only 52 miles!

NO BS here not trying to pull a fast one either. The guy bought it for his brother, who could not get a loan, and then his brother went into the service. He then went to Germany, Texas etc.... The bike has been pad off since 2001 and had the title to prove it. North Carolina DMV had no problems with...

Re: I just picked up my 1997 FZR 600 with only 52 miles!

The previous owner gave me everything he had for the bike; helmet, tool set, owners manual, net, and tank protector. He even threw in a ratchet strap to help tie it down on the trailer.

Yes this has been in someone's garage for a long time. The bike runs rough, I am getting the little bit of stail gas and possible gummed up carbarator is the culprit. The tires have all their tread but are dry rottted where it was sitting. Here are some pictures of the bike the day I picked it up. I...
