Re: had a quick question about first gear take off.
clutch seems like its still good, have it adjusted almost half way in at the handlebar it still feels fairly new, i have at least an inch that i can still tighten down at the bar, does that mean it still has plenty of life? or can they be adjusted all the way in & out even if the plates are worn down?

Like i can pull away from a...

Re: had a quick question about first gear take off.
I have the clutch handlebar adjusted out, so half a pull gives me full clutch, when i first bought the bike it was adjusted to a point where as soon as you released pressure the drive train engages, it feels a lot more comfortable at about an inch out with no free play once i apply handlebar pressur...

Re: had a quick question about first gear take off.
Also i may have gave you inaccurate numbers. generally rolling start from a stoplight i take off around 3k, small shutter while it engages the then smooth through 3k+ andno problems with any other gear and ANY rpm range. could this be first gear giving out?or would it be more clutch problems? Also h...

I started to do the same .& noticed i have some clutch lock up issues when taking off at that high RPM's.. I dont have any slipping. just premature grabbing? is this due to old age/we...

Re: had a quick question about first gear take off.
Another part i forgot to mention. Its worst with higher loads (passenger etc.) if i feather the clutch it doesnt do this.. only if try to run between 1500-2200 RPM. if that makes a difference

Re: Guys i need help! busted case lug
Thanks for the tip Y_G. I spend the last 3 days sanding & fiberglassing, more sanding & finally a touch of painting. While i had everything tore down. i fixed the idle positioner (PO had loosened it completely out of its socket) & degreased the whole underbody,. along with the plastics that had some...

Re: Guys i need help!
And yes. it didnt break anything else off that i can notice as of now. Just broke the bolt mount & exposed a small hole where the bolt originally was. sounds like I need to go back to the scene & see if i can find that small piece of metal.

Re: Guys i need help!
I got the bike started after the accident. & it sounded like it was out of oil. i only let it run for 3-4seconds & shut it off.. there was a small amount white smoke coming out of the hole in that casing.. bad news? maybe the oil level was just low from when i tipped the bike? And thanks. I feel a l...

Guys i need help! busted case lug
OK, so heres the deal. I dropped my bike took a corner to wide & front tire caught the edge of the street & pulled me into grass where i proceeded to skid into an embankment of rocks. needless to say I think my engine might be scrapped. As she slid over a decent sized rock, it tore one of the bolts ...
