Swapped instrument clusters and now speed reads REAL high

Hello everyone! I'm finally back on the bike after i crashed it against my garage's wall trying to push-start it. Amongts my other parts and a head rebuild I changed the instrument cluster, and the one i have now seems to be from a more recent bike than my 89. this is the one i have now http://i.eba...

People PLEASE!
I can't believe no one can spare the 30 seconds it takes to put a measuring take to the forks from the seal to the triple tree!!

Re: Non-Responsive Clutch

there's also a chance that the clutch pushrod has snapped, and the outer piece got ejected out of the sprocket cover. When you remove the sprocket cover, does the pushrod extend all the way from the tranny case to the mechanism that's rotated by the clutch cable? If not, and its flush (or almost) wi...

Re: Can anyone tell me/measure the stock ride height?

I know the good solution is taking the forks off, changing the oil and throwing in some of those ohlins springs, but at the moment i'm broke and have absolutely no time or patience to do this myself. so all i'm gonna do is compensate for the extra front height by raising the forks up through the TTr...

Can anyone tell me/mesure the stock fork's length? EDITED

EDIT: I found a MUCH simpler way to find out so it'll be a lot easier for you guys to help me out a little on this. I need to know the distance between the fork seals and the bottom yoke of the tripple tree with the bike resting on the sidestand so i can find out whether my bike's riding at stock he...

Re: holding clutch basket

Another option is to put it in gear, then put a wooden axe / hammer handle, or 2x4, through the rear wheel spokes. This only works of course if the drive train is still intact... I can vouch for this method, specifically the hammer version, since i just used it last week. I'll add its best to do it...

Re: Blew the motor I think. Is it Garbage?

The bike still starts and runs and sounds fairly normal. How's this possible with a thrown rod? Whenever one of the cylinders in any of my vehicles wasn't firing, it sounded offbeat and weird, even on my 6-cyl beemer... Well at least now you know what the damage is, and that the weird clanking nois...

1989 FZR600 running really rich in the low end. Solutions?

Hello people! This is my first post in this forum but i've been lurking for quite a while, ever since a acquired a 1989 FZR600 a few months back. When I got it the bike was running OK but besides the endemic oil burning problem, it was hard to start and had some hesitation when opening the throtlle ...
