I thought about it being the tank vent, but it's done this with the fuel cap off, so it's not a vaccuum issue. I was hoping for that. My puller is an OEM piece, but heat is an excellent suggestion. I'll probably work on this bike this weekend, I'll keep ya'll updated. Thanks for the guidance.

This is of interest to me as well. I have a 400, and would love to know the length of the stock runners on the airbox. I'd guess an inch, but probably better to ask.

No one has any leads on a stock chain guard?

Anyone have a stock chain guard or know if the 600 chain guard will fit on the 400? I'm replacing a missing one, and want it to look stock(ish).

Someone like fanman.com should have an adjustable thermoswith with a probe that fits into the radiator. I had that on a track car, and things worked out well. It won't be invisible, but it will be functional.
