Re: A 1989 1WG with many questions !

First mod to make: Suspension Second mod to make: Suspension. Stock is junk, and this is the highest bang for the buck upgrade you can make. Lots of options here, search the history of the board for tons of info. If you are going to change the filter and exhaust, do it all at once and book some time...

Re: FZR 400/600 vibration problem

There are several write-ups on adapting the 600 box to the 400 wiring. I would suggest doing that. Over-revving the 600 motor can result in some very bad things. There are very sound engineering reasons the the 600 redlines where it does.

If you could supply some pics and dimensions, I could possibly trade you. I have a couple of the originals here.

Re: Testing Gyro-Cam at Deals Gap

We are working on a marketable version of the rig. We are also going to make some up for track-day and race rentals. Here is a short video of Jared Barnes using the cam. He is very fast, to say the least.

Testing Gyro-Cam at Deals Gap

My buddy Derek whipped up a home-made gyro-cam out of parts he had laying around. There will be further refinements, but it works pretty damn well as it is. I am going to do another run with it with less traffic and a higher mounting point sometime soon. If anyone is interested, I'll post that one a...

Re: What the fork???

I have two 400's, and the taps are broke on both of them. When the bike is off, fuel shouldn't get past the pump. If it gets past the pump, the floats should stop it. If the floats aren't stopping it you now have an issue. Next time you are in the carbs, check the float needles for wear. These are f...

Re: Replacement carbs? Newer models?

I have had good luck with FactoryPro carb parts for the FZR. This would just be for tubes, needles and jets. The best thing is to find a set of flat-sides, but they are pricey if you are lucky enough to find them. These guys http://www.bdkraceeng.co.uk/Bike1.html sell them in the UK.

and not us but a 90 FZR600, an F2, a GSXR750, and an FZR400 from back in 91, they'll all over the lines but you'll notice they don't do it around the blind corners. That 400 was impressive That video was shot back when there were about 15 cars a day on the road. I know the guy who shot that video. ...

Re: where are you guys finding 520 sprockets?

The weight in fact is not negligible. There is a weight difference, but more importantly the kind of weight it represents. The chain and sprockets are rotational mass, which should be kept to a minimum wherever possible. I de-converted my 400 back to a stock chain and there is a difference in thrott...

If you still have these in a couple weeks, I'll take them. I have a ton of 400 parts, so if there is anything off a 400 you can use, perhaps we can negotiate a partial trade.

Re: radiator fan size

I have a couple radiators and a couple fans in my spares box. I am running an R1 radiator with no fan on mine, so I don't really need them. I can make you a pretty good deal.
