Re: Problem with cylinder No. 2 URGENT
The problem must be the #2 carb. To test: start the bike with the tank and air cleaner removed. Spray carb cleaner in #2. If the idle increases and the exhaust pipe gets warm, then you know it is a fuel delivery issue. Fix: Take the carbs off the bike and clean out every passage and hole with solven...

Re: 1989 fzr 600 oil pressure pin.
There is no oil pressure switch on the FZR series of bikes; they use an oil LEVEL float switch. This guy really doesn't know what he's talking about. The oil level switch is a warning light only; it is not part of the safety system, and will not prevent the bike from cranking or running. The oil li...

Re: 1989 fzr 600 oil pressure pin.
He might mean oil pressure switch. He may not know what he is talking about. Be careful. If it is not running and in pieces I would not give more than about $500 or $600. If you can't run it and ride it, you don't know what you are buying. Good luck.

Re: bike all messed up
I am not real familiar with the FZR 1000 but I believe there is a chain (internal) attached to the clutch basket that may have given up. As previously suggested, pull the clutch cover and start looking around.

Could be the firing order. Did you have the plug wires off? You might double check your plug wires.

Which screws? Are you talking about carb parts? A picture might help.

Re: Time to move on
Fzrmike,
Good luck. Glad you sold your project. I am in full agreement - why spend a lot of money to make the bike into something it will never be? Just go buy the one you want.

Not knowing what you have already done I would guess that you need to thoroughly clean the carbs.

Re: Guys i need help!
as hagalout said - JB weld. The first concern is whether the chunk that got removed will let the oil out. Run it with the remaining screws holding the cover and see if it works without spraying oil. Many people have saved cases with damage like this with some JB weld. If the crank is bent or the cas...

buzzawak,
I did the R6 rear shock but swapped my stock FZR spring on to the R6 shock. Works fine.

Re: Better Carb Boot clamps?
Jax, I don't think the stock clamps are junk but they may not be working. The clamps on my FZR600 have a small spacer that prevents the clamp from over compressing the rubber. The spacer is like a small tube that limits how close together the tabs on the clamp can go. Sorry, no picture. If your clam...

Re: Float levels , am I missing something ?
ssimon, I did the setup to measure fuel level with little plastic tubes on each carb and it was just impossible for me. That is when I decided to just set the float height. Much easier to see and measure and it works great. I had to reset the float height a couple of times to get it where I wanted i...

YG - good link. I used that same picture when I set my float heights. So who knows the proper height for the FZR1000 floats?
