Re: bike missfire at 5k
Hi,the bike has a not working exup. The yoshimura exhaust won't take the exup, cables where missing but the exup motor is still bolted to the motor and to the cdi but nothing else is attached.Does the cdi have a rev limiter or not?.Carbs where all cleaned. Thanks

Re: 1991 fzr1000 leaking carbs
Ok...one part of the float is smaller and higher then the other.I guess you measure the bigger float height...right?.Thanks BTW I have the Haynes service manual.I checked the carbs specs as you told me to do but there is no mention about the 14mm float level there. The manual mention only 10.6-11.6mm...

Re: 1991 fzr1000 leaking carbs
"you are measuring not from the float arm to the top of the main jet, but from the top of the float to the gasket surface."
Ok....and what the mesurament in mm. should be?.Again...there is not mention about this on the manual. Thanks

Re: 1991 fzr1000 leaking carbs
As a TZ racer, you should know how to do that - check your service manual, but instead of measuring up to the main jet tip, measure down to the carb body gasket surface. I guess you don't own a fzr1000 otherwise you should know that the service manual mention only how to measure the fuel level by u...

Re: 1993 FZR1000 leaks fuel from overflows
As yamaha_george said, there are pretty big chances to have the wrong float heights set. it happened to me when i tried to start a '92 1000. I set the floats to 14 mm (i hope i remember correctly) then it was running like a champ. How you do that?.Yamaha service manual does not say how to set the f...

Re: switch on the left side fairing
reserve switch, get low on gas or you notice sputtering hit the switch -get some gas What he said. It's basically sends a "cut off" signal to the coils (causing them to turn off and on-hence the sputtering) to let you know you're low on gas. That what I wanted to know.I won't need it on a racetrack...
