Re: will an 90? exup engine fit straight into a 93 exup????
The 90 exup engine has an external oil cooler annd "paper" filter. The 93 engine has an intergrated oil cooler and screw on filter. The early engine will physically fit, but the oil cooler problem is far more complex. It has been comprehensively covered on the www.exup1000.co.uk forum. It is "fittab...

Re: who can solve the mystery....
1st off the coils serve cyliders 1 and 3; 2 and 4, so can rule out coils. Deffo sounds like carbs, one way or another. they need strip down, float heights set, emulsion tubes checked for wear. One other thing, the 2 inside carbs have different jets to the outer 2, only a size or two, not really enou...

Re: 1991 FZR 1000 RU fork problem
Might be an idea to find a Cylinder head shop type place that have a spark eroder. That'll get it out without touching the original threads IQ, that would do it, but I only know of 2 between here and Oxford they are kinda rare animals. I did get some work thro the back door of the one in Kingston b...

Re: buying 92 RU what should I watch out for?
Not a lot really, oil consumption can be a problem, brakes binding a little due to crud under caliper seals and exup valve, cables and motor. Flipper has a 91 RU and really has no problems at all. Where in UK are you?
Re: levers
Flipper is on the exup1000 forum and l'm sure someone covered this question there. There are shorty levers out there to fit the 1000 exup

Re: Siezed engine
Does the bike roll in gear with clutch pulled back??
If it doesn't then likelyhood it's gearbox (cos engine will be disengaged). If it DOES, then gearbox is probably good and you're looking at engine fault
