Ok I found the problem, my clutch handle broke where it meets the piston at the master cylinder. Just it just gave out due to age. I'm not turning my bike into a street fighter. Ok, here's the deal. My clutch went sloppy the other day after a guy rebuilt my forks (he isn't a good mechanic). Anyhow I bled the air out of the clutch system and all was well. I had the same problem with my bike when I got it. Was really hard to shift, couldnt get it to go into neutral. Bad coils or CDI related to heat. Also check your trigger wires, I worked on a biked that wasn;t getting spark to one of the cylinders, I figured it was the coil, but on further investigation the wire had a defect and was not making contact inside the coil.

Sounds like you need a valve adjustment. If you get a puff of smoke on startup then your valve guides are worn. If not, then they should be good. Could also be the clutch basket rattling around because the clutch fingers have been grooved. That is easy to check, just pull your clutch cover (right si...
