Clean the arm with a scotchbrite pad, then use an etch primer as this will bite into the alloy and provide a better base for the paint oh and will also stop the paint flaking off as quick. Fcr41mm carbs on a stock engine ...total waste of time, the power increase wont be that much verses the cost to buy them, setting them up and then the running costs they make your bike really greedy for fuel, you'd be far better getting your cams reprofiled (source race cams as i did),the head flowe...

A guy round the corner from me has a 93 fzr600 with over 40k miles on the clocks its a genuine non molested example and not been hammerd , id say ridden quick and it purr's like a cat and as ive riden it a few times after servicing it for him it has plenty of power ...like anything you own treat it ...

Get in touch with the guys at K-tech or Hyperpro ive used them both in the past for spring / fork cartridge kits excellent quality products and not that expensive compared to some.

Did you Hone the cylinders before you fitted the new pistons/rings? if the bikes smokey and burning oil id suggest a partial strip down again hone the cylinders its easy to do , check the rings /replace as there cheap. Ive came across a few cylinder heads where the bores have been slightly oval part...

Ive rebuilt over 30 1k exup motor's over the last 5 or so years the valve stem seals are poor and start to go britle if the bikes not used for periods. Replace them as soon as you can will genuine yamaha items as many aftermarket 1's are well CR*P. As for the carbs get them ultrasonically cleaned if...

My track bikes a 94 Cbr600 FP (steel framed model) its fitted with a 893cc 95 fireblade engine but more importantly it runs the 95 blade swingarm and rear wheel. when the 190 section tyre became the in thing to run on your bike...YES i fitted one to the 5.5 blade wheel ( same as the standard exup 10...
