Re: 1996 YZF Superbike
I have read that to avoid using the 3mm cyl spacer you can use the rods from a Euro spec FZS600 Fazer. I have sourced a set of them. Will YZF cyl, pistons, head, assembled on top of FZR600 bottom end with FZS rods in the middle give me what I want? Also, are rods removeable without splitting enhgine...

Re: 1996 YZF Superbike
Awesome bike.
Can I bug you for some details as to what is needed , in the right order, to come up with the 660 motor?
I am not looking for 116 hp, but 100 would be sweet. It was my racebike, but is now becoming my streetbike as I will race my R6 next yr instead.

Re: Project Freestyle
My K5 GSXR1000's VR is in that same spot. No issues yet. Great build. I wanna get me a 400 frame and title someday and gut my YZF for it's heart and stick it into the 400. Cheap insurance, less weight, and a rarity. A 100 hp 660 in a 350 lb bike would be so much fun. I even love your choce in headli...

Re: 99-02 R6 wheel swap for 95-07 YZF600r swingarm
Not gonna sell it yet. It's super light, trick, and allows me to run 180 tires and just clear the chain. And I have 5 or 6 new in the box 520 sprockets of varying sized in the Marchesini bolt pattern. I have a pile of track scrubs that would be no good to me if I went back to a 160 sized rear wheel ...

Stock YZF wheel/tire/rotor was 9 lbs heavier than the Marchesini 180 wheel/tire/rotor!!
Huge weight loss of rotating unsprung mass

Re: 99-02 R6 wheel swap for 95-07 YZF600r swingarm
I have a Marchesini Magnesium rear wheel just so I can run 180 rear tires on my YZF600(1996 foxeye). This wouldve been a cheap and easy mod. I have a few people asking to buy the pair of Marchesini's from me, and I have 3 sets of R6 wheels. Maybe I should do this mod and sell off the Marchesinis.

Re: question about fzr600r calipers
From info gleaned on the YZF forums, R6 and R1 calipers bolt up. Thundercat ones do not.

89 FZR600 motor swap into 96 Foxeye?
I have a 96 YZF600R Foxeye. It is my racebike. I bought it as a street wreck, and never got to ride it before buying. I race prepped it, and took it to the track. On my very 1st practise, it popped out of 2nd gear at 2500 rpm and up. So I swapped sprockets (-1 up front and + 6 out back) to be able t...
