Re: Its 2018.......Who's still racing FZR's?
Tough year so far mechanically with the FZRs..........even the R6 gave me 2 bad weekends. Racing a retired racers fzr400 now in the meantime..............its a beautiful low milage streetbike thats been race wired/suspension work/race bodywork and thats it...........so you can really feel the weight...

Re: YZF600R engine
Since someone else resurrected this thread, I'm going to shamelessly flog my YZF to FZR adaptor. No more swapping out the whole harness, just plug the YZF TCI into the FZR harness. It comes with leads for the fuel sender and TPS (if you have them), or dummy plugs to prevent error codes (if you don'...

Re: Do all 600 motors fit in all 600 frames ?
Ive swapped YZF600's into FZR400 and 600 frames with ZERO issue. Finishing up a yzf600/fzr400 build at this very moment. There are other misc. things that need moving around,sure.....but engines go right in.

yzf600 engine with fzr ignition/wiring
To use a yzf600 engine, but use FZR wiring and ignition, does the flywheel have to be swapped for the FZR flywheel? I havent had the chance yet to dig in to the engine I just picked up,but this is something I thought ive heard needed to be done because of the pickups.

Re: FZR400 YZF750 conversion
Its been just over a week............done yet???
I'd love to have a 750 engine to see what it would take to get it mounted into a 400. Although probably not worth the headache.....it would be more about the fun of getting it done.

Re: Its 2018.......Who's still racing FZR's?
Very awesome Tomcat!! I had picked up an sv650 to spare the life of the FZR's,but have since relented and sold it to only run the 400 and 600.The SV seemed like it was going to be fun,but too "run of the mill" over here. Im having fun being an odd duck on the FZR's in modern classes. The 3 hour clas...

Re: New Coils, leads and plug caps. Now won't start
Ive never seen the emulsion tubes worn so bad as to give the symptoms you have at that extreme, but at 43K you need new ones regardless. Those are what is going to be the worst part of the rebuild as far as the damage to your wallet. I dont know what you have available back in the UK as far as a sour...

Re: New Coils, leads and plug caps. Now won't start
Float valves good and fresh? Proper height? It seemed like its dumping fuel. Whats the milage? May be time for new emulsion tubes and just an all around full rebuild with all new gaskets and o-rings. Seems like alot, but its cheaper than a new bike and you will be HAPPY when you get it sorted.

Lawdy Lawdy thats gorgeous!!!! Shame to miss out on the AHRMA weekend.......ive concidered trying them out,but its already going to be "IFFY" for the CCS round at CMP for me. A couple of us are really trying to grow the CCS vintage grids, but the younger guys are too convinced they are the next "big ...

Aw dang.......CCS is 2 weeks after that, and a couple of us were contemplating racing there for the first time at that track, in the various vintage classes they have now. Shame, that would have been cool to check out your bikes. What size TZ?
