Re: Electrical Noob
I would bet that the wiring is basic fixed-ground stuff. In other words, the one wire you have goes to your indicator source (flasher), and the desigh relies on being bolted to a grounded source. to test what i am saying, try attaching the lead from a multimeter (on the resistance setting) to the on...

Re: Stock frame color
if you are looking for color out of a rattle can, i have found that Honda heather mist metalic by duplicolor is bang on-- surprisingly i used it for the silver painted case covers too-- i use a clear over top for protection.

Stock Tire Size availibility for '89 600
As of 2011, Bridgstone no longer makes stock size sporty tires for the 89 fzr600 -- however, Continental does. -- it is called the Conti GO! and you can order it in the 130/70/18 and 110/70/17 combo. I will admit that it appears from the literature that this is not as sporting as what Bridgestone wa...

Good point.DonTZ125 wrote:I have to wonder how much of that was the rider being so used to a front end where the steering quickened significantly under braking.
I drove a GTS1000, and i hated it__ it really scared me on the brakes in a corner.

Re: Hi Tech mini bike...............
ahh-- mine most certainly does, but, according to James Parker, (who has written a paper or two on suspensions) "parallel point" front suspensions are handling nightmares. Thats why he used a triangulated setup in the RADD front end.

Nice craftsmanship, but i would bet the, ahh "dynamic" rake and trail would present an interesting experience hitting a bump at speed , or mid corner under compression....

Re: FZR600 Frame Sliders?
Further to Brandon's comments, I have rebuilt 3 crashed bikes (not by me). 2 of them had sliders, and it didn't make a pinch of difference in what i spent in repairing them. The idea is that they save the frame from scratches, but both of mine had some minor scuffs that i had to repair anyway. Both ...

Re: Bike wont turn over...starter relay clicks
this has happened to me more times than i can count, and the culprit is usually not the relay-- its the battery terminals. When you hit the starter it charges the lines from the battery terminals, and if the screws are loose it will kick them up off the face of the terminal. (since like-charged part...

Re: Front Master Cylinder Part??
furthermore-- you can see how it seems to be "bowed" in your photo, but that is what causes the gentle friction fit. When you pry it out, it will flatten. Drain your fluid first, though, because it sometimes can "pop" out splashing fluid onto your paint. If you don't have a vacuum pump, just use som...

Re: Front Master Cylinder Part??
it's just wedged in there. You will find it easier to lift the higher side (logically). Purely a friction fit. From what i can see in your photo, the right side is higher-- just slide a screwdriver under that side and lift gently. It is a flimsy piece of soft metal, and pliable like plastic, so it w...

Re: Front Master Cylinder Part??
that is a splash guard to prevent fluid from squirting through the air and onto your lovely paint when you pull the lever without the cap on the reservoir (such as bleeding). The primary orifice (return orifice) allows some fluid to squirt back into the rez during the first few millimeters of the pi...
