Re: Bike seems to bog down while riding
Well, now I'm a step back. She won't start, just keeps cranking. Maybe it was the 55 degree weather haha which isn't even that cold.

Re: Bike seems to bog down while riding
It is a 4 dial type, I was under the impression that I could only do 2 at once for some reason. I guess I'll do all 4 at once and see if that makes a difference. Thanks

Re: Bike seems to bog down while riding
Typically, if it's black carbon buildup, but dry, that would indicate running rich on that cylinder. If its wet, you are not igniting the fuel fully in that cylinder. If the other 3 plugs are "okay," meaning a nice tan color, then the sync is possibly off. What if its wet but it's not fuel, it's oi...

Re: Bike seems to bog down while riding
Seems like these guys have you covered, I'll be serious to see where you end up with all this. Make sure you keep checking the plugs though - they basically let you know what's happening in there. Sorta like the whole "window to the soul" deal. :) This link has decent pics. http://www.ngksparkplugs...

Re: Bike seems to bog down while riding
I'll let you guys know how it goes, I do have a question though. Is it possible to make my own airbox rubbers? I never had an airbox so I don't have the stock rubbers. What size PVC? Anyone have a link or a wiki?
Thanks guys!
Thanks guys!

Re: Bike seems to bog down while riding
So basically what the wiki is saying, is that I should find some velocity stacks to connect my carbs to my k&n's? Can it really be that simple?

Re: Bike seems to bog down while riding
If it ran ok to begin with, then the jets should be ok (although I guess this isn't an absolute). A plug chop is running the engine (under load), killing the engine during rev (obviously with clutch pulled in to prevent disaster), and safely pulling to the side of the road. Then you check your plug...

Re: Bike seems to bog down while riding
Duane may be right, you may be running rich. Did you do any sort of plug chop? Also, if I understand correctly, you are not really sure which jets are in the carbs? Plug chop? Not quite following you there. There's one jet in each carb that says factory on it, it may be the main jet. I've had my bi...

Re: Bike seems to bog down while riding
I'm curious as to how you synched the carbs. Details please. I sounds, to me, you have a rich condition happening. My buddy has a motion pro synchronizer, so we hooked it up to 1&2, 3&4, and 2/3, left the fuel mixture screws where they were and went to town. Put it all back together and took it for...

Re: Bike seems to bog down while riding
Thanks for the replies guys, I've gone over it and checked everything I swear. I even took the boots off and inspected them for cracks or holes, and checked the seals on the carbs. I made sure they were seated correctly, and snug. Yg, I did check my cables to see if they were too tight and everythin...

Re: Bike seems to bog down while riding
One more thing, now it randomly revs up for about 10 secs then drops back down, it also hangs for a few secs when I twist the throttle. Any help appreciated! Thanks

Bike seems to bog down while riding
I just cleaned/synced the carbs to the best of my knowledge, took it for a test ride and now it seems to bog down and not get up like it used to..
Any ideas? Thanks

Brake Light Questions
Hey guys, quick question.. I was attempting to take my brake light bulbs to some led ones but it didn't go to well. They were cheap so maybe that's why. Anyway does anyone have any ideas about how to change it to led without changing the entire brake light casing? Maybe some led strips? Would i need...

Re: A Few Random Things
I also had a quick question about my DR125 dirtbike, i figured id ask here as opposed to joining another forum. The rear tire seems to roll high and low, not wobble, it rolls straight. But when youre riding it you kinda go up and down. New chain and everything so maybe the hub/bearings? Id appreciat...
