Im not sure if my ignition will work on your bike, it is from an 89-90 model and im not too farmiliar with the 87 and the differences in the electrical systems. Id ask around here for input and let me know if you are still intere...

Re: Airbox mod?
I got the idea from Ivan's. He was trying to recoup some of the low end power lost after swaping to a full race exhaust. http://www.ivansperformanceproducts.com/fzr1000.htm At the time I was running a full yoshi exhaust, hi-flo filter, re-jetted, and was looking for a little more bottom end. That being said, ive got a set of plastics and a cluster id let go pretty cheap if you decide to go that route. The way I looked at i...

Re: What year is my CDI from?
well if the 600 and the 1000 numbers follow the same pattern, my 89 1000 cdi is a 3LK-00 and my 90 is 3LK-01, now the cdi in my bike is 3LK-10 and i believe it is a 95 cdi on the newer harness. That tells me the last numbers refer to what gen the box was from, also the two connectors connected to th...

Re: Help...leaking gas
floats might be stuck. can you tell where the gas is coming from? Its probably from running ethanol, it has a tendancy to gum up the carbs. Try some fuel system cleaner and be sure to open and close your choke multiple times to help break down/clear out some of the trash
