sounds likea vacuum leak could be the orings on the manifolds where they go to the heads or the boots or carbs

you should only do a couple of mods at a time incase something doesnt work out so you can go back. and fzr transmissions arent the tuffest so dont go to far

if you use yzf750r cams valve springs and igniter you gain more top end and the rev limiter is moved from 12,000 rpm to 13,500 rpm

i have 99 r1 brakes on the frt of my 92 the calipers are one piece and have a way better feal and stopping power than the stock ones did

glad that worked out but just a friendly sugestion in the future never use a hard wire such as a guitar string in a carb. use only copper wire. thats a beautiful fzr dude im jealous.as for your second gear i blewtwo five speeds out of my 92 before i bought a 97 yzf 750r six speed and it was the best...
