Re: Cant get spark.
Sounds like the next thing you need to check is to see if the pick-up coil (under the stator cover) has proper resistance between 80-120. You'll need an ohm meter(digital tester). Try to download the Yamaha Service manual, it should be some where on this site and follow the step by step procedures f...

(like a drop an hour). I know replacing gaskets is the ...

Re: No spark on #2 or # 3 cylinder - baffled
crazy thing was after messing with the Caps and reseating the wires, 1 &4 stopped firing and 2 & 3 were good??!! So I checked for voltage at the coil leads and voltage was present on both. Long story short, it turned out to be bad plugs. I had'nt figured on this since they had less than 350 miles on...

No spark on #2 or # 3 cylinder - baffled
Bike was running fine a week ago. Now its only hitting on 1 & 4 cylinders when I started it today. (#2 and #3 exhaust pipes were not getting hot with motor running). I immediately thought ignition coil for 2/3 cylinder but the ohms reading (primary & secondary) checked out good within specs, in fact...

Re: Carb Sync Adapters
The WIKI section on carburetors also has a very good pic of the brass tips (link in "syncing"). I got some at Lowes for a few bucks. A good write up on how to make your own sync tool is there. I made mine same way and it worked great!

Raptor 660 Voltage Reg for the FZR
Any feedback available on using a VR from the Yamaha Raptor 660/700 '01-05 models as an "upgrade" to the FZR stock unit? I saw a post on here somewhere from a guy recently who did it and said was working great so far. Any others try this? They are going as cheap as $10 on ebay as opposed to YZF/R6 u...

Re: Swapping out (reversing) your clip-ons
yeah, i figured torquing the bolts adequately should suffice. My only concern is on full turn (like maneuvering out of tight spot/backing up) the clip or my hand might hit against the screen cage. I'll just have to try it and see... http://fzronline.com/gallery2/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2...

Swapping out (reversing) your clip-ons
anyone ever tried this? That is...removing the left side clip-on, flipping it over and installing on the right side and vice versa....so the angle would then be bent slightly up rather than down.(you'd have to drill new dowel pin holes of course) The idea being raising slightly the riding position t...

Complete Frame swap
I have to move my entire bike off the currently untitled '93 fzr frame (it was a good deal at the time) to a '97fzr frame that I obtained and titled under my name ---gotta make it legal sometime! This ought to be fun. I don't plan any real upgrades in the process (bike is pretty much stock) beyond c...

Re: WTB Windshield '93 FZR600
Good question. which ever provides more space to tuck behind and better protect from wind at high speeds. Perhaps that what the DB style is designed to do? Thanks for the link

Timing Chain adjustment
Hey just wondering if the timing chain requires any periodic adjustment??.... or does the tensioner automatically keep it tight as it begins to stretch over time and higher mileage? So far I don't i hear any noise from there on my '93 with almost 18k miles.
