Re: Front TIRE size
Yes on my 92 1000 I have a 130 profile on the front and a 180/55 on the rear. I like the meatier look, however the bike is a bit reluctant to turn, especially on tight transitions.. very stable @ speed in level flight though

Re: bugs and gas mpg
My favourite way of removing bugs is to use a solution of dish soap and water. It should soak a bit and then the bugs come off super easy.. spritz rinse with a preasure washer or whatever

Re: Clutch 1990
Hi foxeye pete Am in the process of rebuilding the clutch on my 92 FZR 1000.. My uinderstanding is that usually steels , frictions and springs are all that's needed. However I was given adivise that if there is any visible wear on the clutch boss that it should be replaced. The basket can be cleaned...

Re: bugs and gas mpg
I have ridden 1000 k road trip a week or so ago and tried tapping it cool for one stint ( 100/110k) and rode another stint aggresively. I got the same 33 m.p.g. ( imperial) on all legs. bike seems to be running a bit fat but still pulls good and hard. My 400 GSXR consistantly gives me 60/65 m.p.g., ...

Re: annoying noises
I have FZR EXUP for last three days.. some short stints on the highway revealed some minot droning @# speed. I have check for deflection of bearings.. O.K. spun up by hand ( weight off) shows no dragging brakes, roughness or premature slowing down so I assume may be chain and intend to allign and lu...

Re: Fairing Repairs With Plastex
It absolutly Does work.. I have made many ( lasting) repairs with this material. The latest a week or so ago to the upper fairing on my 84 GSXR 400. Fell over on stand hitting my helmet. I ordered mine from the U.K. as scourcing it in Canada was proving to be a pain.. ordered years ago out of Toront...

Re: Clutch slipping
Hi: Hope oil is Jaso MA ceert for wet clutch. Ya I'd checl the freeplay at cluth housing and lever.. there has to be some or you slightly disengaged all the time. My FZR EXUP 92 has been doing the slip when cold good once warmed right up. I just got the bike yesterday and intend to check # 1 freepla...

Re: bugs and gas mpg
Put 300 k on my 92 FZR EXUP this morning. Topped off tank zeroed trip meter and refilled after 200 k. kilos travelled devided by litres consumed multiplied by 2.84 gave me 33/34 mpg. I rode with spirit. I'd like better but expect this is about normal Yosh pipe. Dyna jet kit.. seems normal not Fat or...

Re: oil filter and oil
:banjoman In any Jap bike, with a wet clutch use only oils with a JASO MA cert. as theat indications means they are compatable with the friction plates in your clutch. Automotive oils should be avoided as any friction modifiers will eventually raise clutch grip issues Hop this helps Allan P.S. Just ...
