Last hit out for the year.

This will be a pretty strange weekend for me. The place I started racing way back in 1978 is closing down. So its the last time I'll ever race there. I came back to racing last year after almost 20 years to have one more go & have some fun. Now its time to do the last ever laps of this great track. ...

Re: The XS1100 Winter Project has officially begun!

Over here in Australia, a race team made a chain drive conversion for their XS1100. They rode it in the Arai 500 race at Bathurst NSW. Im pretty sure it won the race [F1 class]. An XS1100 won the production class as well. They were a big heavy lump of a bike that should not have won anything, execpt...

Re: Just picked up a 1993 FZR 1000

The FZR 1000 is very oil sensitive. I would do an oil & filter change. I race one of my FZRs & it doesnt like synthetic oils at all. Burns it like crazy. I changed to a top shelf Castrol 10w40 mineral oil, & havent had a problem since. Motol 5100 is good to FZRs as well. I use it in my FZR1000 road ...

Re: Last round done & dusted

Hmm Ive had talks at lenth with my tuner, & he wont let me remove the exup for that reson. Its not that big of a hp gain, & you lose the torque. So he said keep it on. I have to agree, all the guys that have removed have all complaned about what a change it makes & mostly not for the better.

Re: Last round done & dusted

You wouldnt want to be here at the moment.Martin Pecks gsxr1255 just dynoed at 200hp plus change on the rear wheel.Sneeky bugger jumped 3.6seconds off his pb in one event then overshot a corner.LOL My FZR will be at the lower end of hp scale but at the top end of handling. Should be fun next year. ...

Re: The best race so far!!!

Niiice! I am sooo fricken jealous! They let you run that split bottom fairing? Catch pans? The open bottom fairing is because it would be a bit of a danger if the pan filled with oil & covered the exup. It would burts into flames & they think its the best of both evils not to have a fried rider.. I...

Re: The best race so far!!!

Yeah! everyone trys the outside line but can never pull it off. I was running 3rd when the pic was taken & we 3 were single file. But its worth a try if you can pull it off because it give you the inside for the next corner which is a right hander. But you have to out drag the FZR to that corner, & ...
