Re: Swingarm questions re: R6 rear shock conversion
Sorry it's taken a while to thank you for your help. I've been working on the front calipers most recently. Now that is done... Situation so far is I have found a 3en2 swingarm however it does not come with the chain adjusters. Can anyone help me source a pair? (Will similar adjusters fit from other...

Re: R6 Blue Spot Caliper upgrade for 3en1
*Update* I have now fitted the calipers to my bike. Just to clarify, in case it helps anybody looking for a definitive answer, the blue spot calipers from the '99 - '01 (5eb) R6 definately fit a 3en1 fzr 400 with no mods needed. Re: Swingarm questions re: R6 rear shock conversion
MrFreeze - Cheers for your tip and the pictures - I have already bought an '07 (red spring) shock. Some people have mentioned that the '07 shock can also be fitted if spun 180degrees. Do you have an opinion on this?
George - Thanks for those links. I read through in detail.

Swingarm questions re: R6 rear shock conversion
Hey Guys - I am about to fit my R6 rear shock to my 1988 3en1 and I want everything ready before starting. My bike has the original 3en1 braced swingarm as pictured below 1. I think I read somewhere that I can't use the existing 3en1 swingarm without modification - Can anyone confirm this? 2. Has an...

Re: R6 Blue Spot Caliper upgrade for 3en1
Based on above I have bought this set up: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330407673100&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT Hopefully it's suitable :headscratch: :) I will be replacing the rubber lines with the braided lines which I already have and I'm confident will be suitable. Buzzawak ...

R6 Blue Spot Caliper upgrade for 3en1
I have stripped the front calipers and lines off the bike (1988 FZR 400 3en1) The calipers need to be overhauled with new seals but they are expensive at about £40 at £5 per piston. The r6 blue spot caliper upgrade at this stage might be worth doing. I know this have been covered in other threads bu...

Re: Replacement Fan
Having investingated Ebay I have found that FZR 400 rads with fans (predominantly all sold as a whole) are going on average for the cheapest at £25 + P&P. However I did find this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260567516476&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT Would need to invent some mea...

Re: New member UK - FZR 400 3en1
Hi George - Thanks for your welcome. I managed to have a glance over the cases and there is 1WG stamped on the block. To be fair I have seen this before(!) and so for all this chat about 400 / 600 engines I should have clicked that I already knew the answer without realising it :P Probably not going...

Re: New member UK - FZR 400 3en1
Welcome to the site! Looks like the frame is in good shape. The cc's should be stamped on the engine block. I'm certain someone may have used a 600 stator. I doubt there is an internal difference. darrin Hi Darrin - Cheers for that. Had a look last night and no sign of CC's written on the block :ta...

Re: Replacement Fan
Cheers for your input mate. I don't want to feck about too much with rerouting coolant hoses at this stage as I have what appears to be a perfectly serviceable oem cooling system in place but I do have an uprated radiator in mind further down the line. I know these bikes have a tendency to run hot. ...

Replacement Fan
The OEM fan on my'88 fzr 400 was rusted to a standstill on this bike when I bought it. I have managed to free the mount assembly from the radiator but I wondered if anyone has fitted a modern, lighter, more powerful / efficient electric fan? Any hints on which type of fan might be most suitable and ...

Brake pads and Seals
Just rebuilding front calipers on fzr 400 3en1 - the 4 pot gold ones. I'm in UK. After some budget front pads (suitable for light track use) - There are some cheap pads on ebay i.e. Pyramid parts or Gold Fren. The price is attractive but are they any good or would anyone recommend another brand? I a...
