i guess i got lucky and scored my near mint black front fender from ebay for 30 shipped

front forks to a fizzer 1k?

its fairly straight forward if your a good mechanic and have a manual. i helped my brother over the winter to swap in a 6 speed...as far as i remember the only thing else needed is the little oil sprayer thing to spray oil on the 6th gear. message my brother on here bluesbreaker45 is his name i beli...

were the valve clearances good? and how many miles are on the bike. did you check the valve spring on that valve when you had it out

i would take a set of needles and possibly the emulsion tubes as well if we could get them shipped to the states

i bought the bike locked up. i got it freed up but smoked like a freight train.....and had some pretty low compression....the bike had sit for roughly 4 years outside....and i was told it was a track bike which may be true considering the low miles. i believe i will go back to stock jetting like mcf...

not positie of the altitude...but i rebuilt the motor 1000 miles or less ago....the only time i burn any oil is at start up because the valve seals are goin bad. and i believe black smoke means your running rich?? correct me if im wrong.

alright. i put what i believe is a 124 dyno jet in there. from some cross reference sheets i found on the internet it comes out to be around a 116 mikuni jet. which would be very lean considerin my full exhaust and some cheap ebay pod filters. but still puffs some black smoke when you hit wot. i did...

ok checked today. the emulsion tubes are circle and no where near egged shaped. the slides when lifted fall normally. i cleaned the carbs once again today so i guess ill just put them on and see what happens. one thing that i never payed much attention to before. the number 1 and 4 cylinder main jet...

the problem is with the stock 38mm carbs. i belive my air/fuel mixture screws are out 2 3/4 turns out. i have tore the carbs apart about ten times and cleaned them. you can say there not clean all you want but i honestly believe they are clean. the last 8 or 9 times i have cleaned them i have found ...

ok i know for sure my problem is related to the carbs. because i put my brothers keihin fcr's on my bike and it ran exceptionally well. 1. my bike runs like poo until about 3.5k, like it is hitting on 3 cylinders. after that it runs fine up until about 8k and crackles sputters. again like its runnin...

when i did my valve lash i had a 5 or 6 valves out of the 20 that was .000 and it ran fine but pretty much impposible to start. once started it ran fine. also ran a ton better after the valve lash. but like reelrazor said you could very possibly have some very tight valves

ignition coils can go bad with heat. the bike could run fine at start up ( ignition coils cold) but once the motor gets warmed up along with the coils, the coils could be shorting out or something with heat. but id think or atleast hope the motor would be warm before a thirty minute ride time or 50 ...

bluesbreaker, call me crazy but if i was you i would make a second set for your brothers fzr also! maybe im wrong tho

i cant think of one single pro to a manual cam chain tensioner. the only reason i could see goin to a aftermarket(manual tensioner) would be if the stock ones had rep. of going bad after a couple years or something. i dont know about anybody else but im still on the stock one. im completly in the da...
