Re: R1 Oil Change/Coolant Flush gone bad
Cancel that. Got it all cleaned out and put back in place today. A couple of O-Rings and 5-6 hours of work all done, and bike's back on the road.

R1 Oil Change/Coolant Flush gone bad
We were doing an oil change/coolant flush on my bike and ran into a problem. Ill try to keep this short and to the point http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q177/Saint_101/tn.jpg What you are looking at is an elbow that goes into the bottom of the crankcase of the bike, it is a part of the oil coolin...

Re: Stator/Charging issue
Final Update:
I tracked it down to the wires inside the stator cover. One of them had broken in half where it had been sauldered together. Fixed it up and the bike is charging again.

Re: Stator/Charging issue
Update on it: Yes, I did the test on the right setting. Initially I got no reading, I opened the stator to see if anything inside was burnt up and saw nothing. When I put it all back together I got a reading that was correct, and so I was optimistic that one of the connectors was loose and when I pu...

Stator/Charging issue
So I went through the charging test diagram and got all the way to testing the three white wires going to my Regulator (I have the R6 Regulator mod for the record). I marked all the cables to be sure I wasn't double testing and what I am getting is the correct Ohm readings on two of the wires and on...

Re: Speedometer not working.
Thanks guys,
I looked in the tubing and the wire is missing. I looked and it's like the 25 bucks so I'll be picking one up.
Hopefully that's the only issue.
Thanks again,
-Jake

Speedometer not working.
Hey guys, Last night it was raining, and when I left work my speedometer wasn't working so I pulled over. I noticed that the speedometer cable that attaches to the front wheel was detached. I reattached the cable, but it is still not working. I'm not sure if the cable is damaged, if I have to reset ...

Re: FZR600 - Regulator not working.
Yeah, I already completely changed the fuel. I still need to do an oil and filter change. I'll definately switch those brake lines, I didn't even think about that. Thanks.

Re: FZR600 - Regulator not working.
Thanks everyone. I ended up buying the motorcycle. 1993 FZR600 (I put 1990 on accident in first post.) I love it. I went down there and tested everything and the only problem was the reg wasnt grounded, it was only taped to the frame. I grounded it and the bike has ran, and charged, fine ever since....

Re: FZR600 - Regulator not working.
Thanks. The person selling it is a 16 year old kid who didn't know a thing about motorcycles, so hopefully was just misinformed. I have a friend going to look at the bike who is quite knowledgeable about motorcycles and he will look for other electrical issues.
Thanks again for the response.

FZR600 - Regulator not working.
I am new to the forums and will be most likely purchasing a 1990 FZR600 this week. I had a question about the regulator on the bike not working. I understand that the regulator allows charging of the battery, but the person selling the bike told me that if you purchase a new regulator, that you shou...
