Re: clucth basket options
^ i fully understand what your saying. but what do you do if you 1)can't find a new basket or 2)can't afford a new basket? i didn't spend all this time and money on this old bike to give up just because of one worn out part. but hears a dumb question, would a basket from a 1000 fit into a 600? judgi...

clucth basket options
is there any aftermarket company producing clutch basket and boss? id be more than willing to buy a new oem one if it wasn't $450 for both pieces, but if i have to i'll just have to save up it just seems like an awful lot of money, but in a way it doesn't surprise me from past experience with oem st...

Re: Ceramic brakes
i think the whole theory that the rotors wear faster with ceramic pads is all hogwash. most if not all car manufacturers (from atleast the late 90's with foreign cars) use ceramic pads from the factory. just as an example at the parts store i work at we have a 2008 colorado 2wd truck that we run par...

Re: factory pro jet kits
im sure i could figure out how to tune everything and if i cant i know someone who could help. FP has a kit that requires the removal of the air box and pods put inplace, seems like it would be a pita to tune but i dont know, just seeing if anyone has used that kit before. im choosing FP over DJ bec...

Re: What not to do,when checking valve clearances
i actually broke a cam adjusting my timing after setting my valves, i didnt line up the end of the cam with the slot in the head, it was only a tiny bit off. went to tighten everything down and heard a pop, my first reaction was a stripped bolt in the head, turned out to be the cam, i had to take it...

Re: fzr600 intake valves??
looks to me like even if you do get that head you should at the very least try to clean up some of that carbon before putting it on your bike, if you have the tools i would suggest taking the valves out of the head to inspect/clean. shimming the valves isn't too hard, just alittle time consuming.

Re: Bike wont turn over...starter relay clicks
i would look for any chaffed or pinched wires. how are all the connections from the battery? like from the relay and down at the starter?
i had a problem with a pinched wire for the killswitch that drove me nuts for a day.

Re: 1000 EXUP SWINGARM TO FZR 600 updated bolt sraight on
alright, dumb question: what is the 1000 swing are made out of? aluminum? steel? does anyone think its possible to actually make the 1000 swing arm work and line up by modding the arm? i ask these questions because: personally id much rather use other model fzr parts instead of the r6 and/or other m...

Re: 1000 EXUP SWINGARM TO FZR 600 updated bolt sraight on
i'm intrigued by how the 600 would handle with the wider tire, how many more tire choices there are for a 180 tire, and are the adjusters any better then the stock 600 ones? (i personally don't really care for the stock adjusters). for me this kind of upgrade would hinge on tires, as i know a 140R18...

Re: Brake caliper rebuild kit-- trying to source
if you have to you can use a rear set caliper kit for the front, you just have to strech the seals alittle bit.
i did it because the dealer wanted $100+ for the front rebuild kit for the calipers and the rear was only like $20-$30, my brakes are fine.
