Re: Manual fan switch for FZR

Will this diagram also work for the FZR1000 (the relevant portion, that is)?

Re: Manual fan switch for FZR

Rise from your grave, thread! I'm resurrecting this because I'd like to know if there's a write up anywhere on how to make a manual fan switch. I tried searching with no dice. My FZR overheated the other day in high heat and heavy traffic with nary a hint of overheating prior, so I think this might ...

Thanks! I'll see if I can't get it hooked up.

Re: Fuel Reserve Switch

I have the wires coming out from the tank, but they're broken off from the switch; I just need to know how they hook up to the switch. I haven't taken a very in-depth look at it, so it might be really simple. Like I said, I'm quite the n00b when it comes to this stuff (especially the electrical stuf...

Re: DDM HIDs

OK, got a pair of the DDM HIDs installed yesterday. 35W, 5000K, H4 Hi/lows. Install was pretty straightforward, though I don't think I found the best place for the ballasts. They're really small, but the wires didn't have that much length (some had too much, some too little) so that limited my optio...

Fuel Reserve Switch

While taking some of the fairings off the bike yesterday to do an HID install (which work brilliantly; maybe I'll do a separate post on them), I found something a bit disconcerting: my switch to go from regular to reserve fuel is not hooked up to anything :tard: So, anyone have any insight on how to...

Re: DDM HIDs

So, both bulbs are H4s, just aimed differently? If so, the 35w kit is <$65 shipped. The only beef I have with the ones on my car (look like the same ballasts) is that they take a couple of seconds to warm up. Once warm, they're instant on/off. Still, it might be annoying switching from low to high b...

DDM HIDs

I have a kit from these guys for my SVX, and it's a great, compact, well priced setup (super bright, too). Anyone use these for a FZR? Also, what's our bulb type? I don't have my FSM in front of me (I'm sure I'll check it out when I get home, though). http://www.ddmtuning.com/index.php?p=product&id=...

I just wish I would have ordered it along with everything else; then at least I could get free shipping.

Re: Chain Question

Thanks for the info! I'm still fairly new to bikes, and completely new to chains (last bike had a shaft drive). Since I already have my chain/sprockets on order, there's no turning back now; but it would seem I made the right choice for my personal particulars from the information you gave. I'll be ...

Re: Chain Question

Well, I ordered the sprockets in 16/47. I couldn't get the exact links for the chain, so I just ordered the most I could (120). I'll see how many it actually takes. Oh, and now that I know a little bit about chains, it looks like the one on there is a standard (non O-ring) chain with a master clip :...

I have the factory service manual. Not sure if you mean diagrams (there are some photos in there, but mostly the detail is diagrams).

It might be a while for me, but I'm itching to ride! I still have some things to get set up on my bike, though.

How are you liking the stand? I saw that stand and an adapter to make it work as a front stand and I was considering picking it up.
