Hard start
it fired right up today no problems but the battery was a little weak. I charged the battery and drove over the gas station next to work and back to the shop. It was not responding well and small back fires if the rpms went to high. Idle is a little high and rich. I figure I need to adjust the carbs...

Re: valve cover gasket
get yourself some gasket "paper" & make your own. I use a socket on the end of my "birdie" finger as a tiny hammer and cut the paper on the edge of the item its going to fit.[/quote]
i have done that in the past on other flat surfaces but this one has a rubber molded gasket that sits in a channel

valve cover gasket
Hey guys I am going nuts looking for a new valve cover gasket. I keep checking ebay but keep striking out. Mine leaks pretty bad, to the point that oil will drip on the headers and it ignited once (ghost rider eat your heart out my flames are real), that was an interesting ride. So what else has eve...

Re: no fire on 2 and 3
I had a feeling my vr was going out before I parked the bike. It has set for close to a year thanks to a DUI. and its time for me to be able to drive and ride again soon. So I am going to get the digital ignitor and get it running again they see if my vr is bad.

Re: STUMPED, first one to fix my bike wins $100.
I am going to throw in my 2 cents. I am a car mechanic that plays with bikes. pouring in a little water works. But from what I have found and you can ask anyother old school mechanic, use transmission fluid. Transmission fluid is a detergant(think i spelled that wrong). It will do the same as the wa...
