Re: Blew the motor I think. Is it Garbage?
Just an update. We pulled the oil pan off. The rod snapped and is stuck on the hole in the crankcase. AS far as I can tell that's the only damage to it. The bearing spins freely and there is no other metal chunks other then a piece of the rod in the oil pan. I'm pretty confident in saying that the k...

Re: Blew the motor I think. Is it Garbage?
I finally went and pulled the oil pan to asses the damage. I know I can't see everything from there put I can get a good idea. When I pulled the oil pan it had about a inch long piece of the rod and some of the pieces of the case in ti. Other then that it was clean. Come to find out the rod is stick...

Re: Blew the motor I think. Is it Garbage?
I've got the motor out. I still need to take pictures. We haven't cracked the case yet. How much do you figure a rebuild will cost? Is there a decent guide on any of the forums? Also what do you guys think. Should I make the kid who was riding the bike pay for the repairs. He was definitely ridding ...

Re: Blew the motor I think. Is it Garbage?
I'll take a picture tonight. The bike is at my friends shop. I doubt it's the camshaft that broke. the hole is on the lower half of the crank case on the very corner of the outside cylinder. It would be just to the right of where the rod connects to the crankshaft. Anyways I'll get a picture tonight...

Re: Blew the motor I think. Is it Garbage?
I'll post a picture tomorrow. If I just put JB weld on the question is what could have possibly caused the hole and will it happen again? I found the post you were talking about. If I have a similar problem to what he had the motor is trash. Oh well I guess I'll start tearing it down to see how bad ...

Blew the motor I think. Is it Garbage?
So I let a friend take my bike out yesterday. That was a huge mistake. It's a 92 FZR 600 with 21,000 miles. It was a great bike with emphasis on the was. My buddy and I were sitting on the porch while another friend took my bike for a ride. While he was ridding around we could hear him winding the g...

Re: Herculiner > Paint
Actually it is extremely easy to get off. Well easier then you would expect. I bought my bike and it had already been rhino lined. I laid it down and scuffed some of it up not real bad but I figured I would fix it. After looking at if for a while I picked at the edge and the stuff peels off fairly e...

Re: Clutch presser plate push rod welded to ball bearing
Well I have all of the new parts installed other then the adjustment bolt in the actuator. I couldn't get the old one out and I'll have to buy a new actuator to replace that bolt. The only reason I was replacing it was becasue it was cheap. I don't think it's neccessary to replace. It's chewed up so...

Re: Clutch presser plate push rod welded to ball bearing
So I've been readin and it sounds like this can be a semi common problem. It sounds like the rod dosen't get suffecient oil and welds itself toghether. Is there a way that I can increase the oil flow or help prevent this from happening again. Also how do I clean the tube out so that there isn't any ...

Re: Clutch presser plate push rod welded to ball bearing
I just ordered all of the parts I need. I got push rod 1, push rod 2, o-ring, ball bearing, pressure plate, and the setbolt. I'm going to oil everything really good and install and hopefully that will fix the problem. I looked at the haynes manual and it says to install the clutch steels in specific...

Re: Clutch presser plate push rod welded to ball bearing
Your right I didn't oil them put I also didn't remove them. My oil level was fine I even added more oil right after doing the work. Would they need to be oiled even though I didn't remove them. Also I didn't do any adjustments on the actuator could that be part of it maybe? It would keep extra press...

Clutch presser plate push rod welded to ball bearing
Ok I'm stuck and really use some help. My bike is a 92 fzr600. I replaced the clutches everything seemed fine. I started the bike up and took it for a spin. It ran great. It might still be sliping but I'm not sure. Whenever I'm crusing and I grap a handful of throttle the rpms go up but the bike dos...
