Re: Robotics /electronic geeks here?
Arduino is the way to go. Lots of expansion, and tons of source out there. Plenty of guys using it and forums. You could ultimately interface with multiple adruino's or backbone to some sort of pic/stamp/or embeeded device. Depending on what you want to automate or control really changes what's the ...

Re: need color suggestions
Alot of sticker stuff going on there. I agree, ditch the pinstripe on the back as well as the ones under Suzuki. They just throw it off. The tribal needs to go, it's not that bad but not you either. Not sure about the 1000. I love those front blinkers tho, talk about clean! The rears are really hidd...

Re: Shift Rod Stuck?? Any Ideas?
Agreed, good speaker magnet and probably air cut off will do the trick. I guess the only thing holding my back is the question of: (first, we know the rod is bent for sure i cant get it out) but whats keeping the paw (closer to case) to not be able to move? I realise when the pins are in the drum it...

Re: Shift Rod Stuck?? Any Ideas?
I agree with the deeper problem. I was able to move some projects around, got under her last nite. Tried to jiggle the drum to where it allowed the paw to move, and pry'd and tapped the paw (bent or not it should slide, ive got the shift rod pushed back in (so the paw isnt at the "binding" spot)). E...

Re: Shift Rod Stuck?? Any Ideas?
Well i let a friend ride, and i'm not really sure how, but i beleive he downshifted at high rev's.. it was then "stuck" in gear.. we beleive 3rd gear (once i tore down i could see as suspected the drum was in 3rd). At first i assumed, "oh no biggie, the shift retent arm thingy just popped off the dr...

Re: Shift Rod Stuck?? Any Ideas?
I'm in the same boat as you. Like i said trying to avoid complete tear down. And yes i'm not worried about damage i have new shift rods, paws, and entire transmission (which i didn't use previously). I might be able to sell to you once i confirm its not my tranny itself. I have two spares now ;p Yea...

Re: Shift Rod Stuck?? Any Ideas?
As i stated before this isn't the first time i've done the tranny. So, yes the oil pan is off, you have to take it off in order to get to the shift paws which slide on the shift rods which is what i'm trying to get out. You are not able to remove the "knuckle/cam" (shift paw) until u slide the shift...

Shift Rod Stuck?? Any Ideas?
Hey guys. I am now on my second transmission rebuild. This one being due to my friend riding beside me and i'm not really sure or how, but it had to be a bad shift. Anyways.. that brings us to my problem. I previously changed out the drum and was able to get my second gear back fine (thats how i pur...

Re: the first "small " batch of pics
Not really, i just was wondering i thought the pods came up with individual funnels for each, which is why you use single pod filters (as u can tell i havent switched mine out yet, still have the stock box on) Either way, just wondering if you had to make a plate on the bottom in order to use those ...

Re: the first "small " batch of pics
Can you tell me what kind of pod filters you are using? I've seen these dual pod filters a few times, and would rather go with these.
The ones i saw everyone recommend was the single emgo pod filter setup.

Re: YZF or other front fairing?
Damage isnt that bad. I can probably repair. Already have a new stator cover on the way. Ill clean up for the rest of summer and just ride im sure. Do the tail swap and repaint this winter maybe. http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/9779/photo060108001wg2.th.jpg http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/5606...

Re: YZF or other front fairing?
Yea, its pretty sad.. i was parked in angle parking spots right in front of the store, ran in to just grab a pack of meat to grill. Come out to damage. He pulled out the opposite way of the angled lines without looking im sure, and basicly his front bumper nailed my fairing and then tipped the bike ...

YZF or other front fairing?
Guys, some a$$hole hit my bike in a parking lot yesterday and drove off (no cameras or witnesses). He was even nice enough to put it back as if nothing happened. What a douche. Either way, I've got a 92 FZR so i have the single headlight which are hard to find fairings for. I could go the double bub...

Re: Crash Cages?
I believe i really just meant not removing the engine from my frame. The clymer i have made it seem like alot more work then it really is. http://fzronline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=206 See if that helps you any. The trick is to setting the bike on its side gently to work on it like he is, with ...

Re: Crash Cages?
Let me know on the template. I havent got the skins off to see what kind of mount points i have yet. It looks like spyder used a flat bar on his lower front engine brace mount in order to provide more strength perhaps? Maybe i'll look into the external cage idea. I really would like to keep my skins...
