Valve clearance - all but 2 valves too tight!
I just got through with a valve clearance check. On the intake side, valves in cylinders 1 and 3 were all too tight to measure (less than 0.0015" - my smallest feeler gauge). Cylinders 2 and 4 each had one intake valve at between 0.004" and 0.005", while the other intake valve in each of those cylin...

Re: start requires throttle, inconsistent idle, misfire
Carbs have been cleaned and carefully bench-synced only. I can give the idle mix screws a try. However, wouldn't taking them out an additional turn enrichen the mixture down low?DonTZ125 wrote:Stock idle mix screw position is 3 turns out - try that. Have the carbs been cleaned and synced?

Re: emulsion tube question - stock or aftermarket?
I'll have to go look at that one again, as well as the other three, to see if it appears that the holes were drilled by hand. At first glance, I was sure they were machine-drilled Aside from the holes, do the tops (crowns?) of the emulsion tubes appear to be stock? I was sure that I had seen picture...

emulsion tube question - stock or aftermarket?
Hi all, I posted this on FZRarchives as well, and thought I'd widen my search a little bit. Can anyone tell me if the emulsion tube pictured below is stock or aftermarket? The "crown" portion is drilled evenly, and the drilling appears to have been done during manufacturing. I've seen another pictur...
