Transmission Mission

Now that ive fininshed my track days for the year I wanted to ask about the gearbox. My gearbox is generally sloppy and clunky, i cant clutchless upshift reliable and occasionally it will pop out of gear (mostly 3rd or 4th) If I wanted to fix this is it likely to be as easy as just putting new shift...

Re: full gasket set / kit

I'm in the same position but i burn alot of oil rather thank leaking it. For me its going to be more economical to keep toping it up with oil and keep my eye out for a cheap engone or donor bike. I guess if its leaking then its a different story, but once you've run a compression test you'll know wh...

Re: Track Day - Cadwell Park... before I die.

No, i did one yesterday with focussed events. i didnt buy the pictures of me from the photographer (£30!!!) but i took a few snaps which i'll load up when i find my camera. It was a great, glorious sunny day, and a good opportunity to get the tyres smoking hot. My brakes started to fade really badly...

Re: Easy R6 shock upgrade

Just to add I got my kit from ReelRazor shipped over here to the UK, compared to my other options it worked out pretty cheap and the r6 shock is nice and modern. My OE one was well and truly past it so it made a big difference straight away. it was easy to fit (and a good time to re-grease all the n...

Re: Track Day - Cadwell Park... before I die.

I'm taking the FZR there on Thursday! I've done one day there before and its a great track, its got everything, as well as the famous jump (the mountain) theres also a really twisty bit through a wooded area (hall bends i think) Its in the middle of nowhere and there are no pit garages but its a hel...

Re: Cheap track bike mods??

The Theory sounds good to me......... I have a degree in this somewhere..... Is it OK to make the teflon spacer and the steel spacer as a 'c' section so that i can compress the springs and then slip them over the damper rod? Or is it better to do the job properly and make complete spacers - for whic...

Re: Cheap track bike mods??

So obviouly I got nailed by all the brand new litre bikes twice a lap but then got to scithe past them through the corners or on the brake...

Re: Cheap track bike mods??

Re: Chain question?????

Im probably way to late with this one but....... To see how worn the chain is, pull it to the rear of the bike off the rear sprocket, at the same height as the wheel spindle. Literally just grip it with your thumb and forefinger and pull it bacwards, if the links are not worn then you wont be able t...

another carb question.....

i know there are already lots of other carb questions on here but none exactly the same as my problem. I seem to be getting very low mpg, like 35mpg!!! on a stock 1989 enging with 35K on it. The engine never needs any choke to start and can be difficult to start when hot, it generally idles at 1300 ...

Hi all. Im in the Uk and have just bought an FZR600 which i plan on using a a cheap trackbike over the summer - (if we ever get one here in England.) so i wanted to ask you wise oracles of knowledge about some budget mods for the bike on track.
