Re: Fuel pump question
Well, the previous owner of the tank had apparently done something funky with the wiring and to make a somewhat long story short, the low level indicator and power wire for the pump got switched. So after many many many many attempts at cranking this thing over (while it wasn't getting any fuel) I F...

Re: Fuel pump quesiton
UPDATE: I connected the bike to the battery tender, turned on the ignition "on" and had the red switch set to "run". I then tried to get a reading on the "tank side" of the fuel pump electrical connector and didn't get a reading so I disconnected the plug and tested the "harness side" of the connect...

Re: Fuel pump quesiton
Thanks for the replies fellas, I guess I should have been more clear though. My bike has been in pieces for the last 2 years and this is the first time I have tried to fire it since putting it all back together. The fuel line and filter was empty when I first tried to crank it over, so once I saw th...

Fuel pump question
I'm running a yzf750 tank on my fzr600 hybrid. When I turn the ignition on, I do not hear the fuel pump at all. Is that normal? When I tried to start the bike it turned over and I could see fuel moving through the fuel filter but the bike wouldn't fire. After like 5 min. (total) of trying to crank t...

Re: yzf600 tank question
Depending on what MX has for a TCI and harness, the 'Reserve' switch may be unnecessary. Certainly, a FZR600 TCI won't be turning it off for any particular reason! MX - What you might want to consider is to design and fab a 'Low level' light that comes on at some point. Otherwise, since there is no...

Re: yzf600 tank question
It's not the Reserve that's the issue; that's an in-tank pump with a level sensor and a 'Reserve' switch, like the FZR1000s have, plus a low fuel light. I *think* the pump has a vacuum on/off tap; the pump comes on, but fuel only actually flows when the engine is drawing a vacuum. Looking at the pa...

Re: yzf600 tank question
That's what I was wondering... what the hell is that second (smaller) port on the petcock for?? I'm guessing I just plug it since whatever it's for I dont have on my bike.Ickis wrote: BTW, is that two outlets on the petcock that I see?

yzf600 tank question
I'm still doing mock-up and right now I'm on the tank. I know that the red fuel hose connects to the brass colored nipple on the petcock but there is a smaller nipple and I have no idea what it's for. Do I just plug it? http://fzronline.com/gallery2/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=24303...

Re: Triangular casting above oil filter
Not really sure why the pic is sideways... I changed it in the gallery "editor" but whatever. I didn't think there would be an issue, especially since the bottom is already kinds bored out but I didn't know if it had some kind of "special significance" or not. I need to get the angle drill and then ...

Re: WTB: Any aftermarket header in good shape
Thanks to Todd I have a sweet set of those Delc's on my bike. That polished stainless looks awesome! Hey Y_G, how are yours holding up? Any rust or pitting?

Triangular casting above oil filter
Can I drill a hole through it? I'm working on a custom lower radiator mount and that is where I plan to fasten the bracket. I know a few guys have used the header studs but the rad sits too low for that to work. Pic: http://fzronline.com/gallery2/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=23662&wi...

Re: Project X
Whoa, don't everybody reply all at once jk So, I've decided I'm not gonna worry about the motor for now. I already replaced most of the gaskets, and man that valve cover gasket is a real PITA :swear Alright, I was trying to fit my fzr600 wheel into my r1 frontend but many PM's later I have decided t...
